VTAPTA Call for Award Nominations - 2012
(To be presented on Tuesday May 8th 2012 at the VTAPTA Educational Session)
Distinguished Service Award
For a chapter member who has
made an ongoing contribution to the profession of physical therapy. The
recipient will have demonstrated commitment, beyond that inherent in
being a member of the profession, to the development of physical therapy
in any of the following areas: Education, Clinical Research, Clinical
Skill, APTA or its components, Community Service
Outstanding Achievement Award
For
a chapter member who has a single or focused noteworthy achievement
e.g. development of a new measurement tool, publication of an article,
development of a program, awareness of an issue/problem etc.
Pia Garrett PT Memorial Award
Given to a physical therapist chapter member who exemplifies a love of and enthusiasm for the profession of physical therapy.
Student Physical Therapist Award
Given
to a 3rd year (graduating) student who is a member of APTA and has an
active involvement with the Association at either the local or national
level and shows a commitment to learning and professional development
that goes beyond the classroom or clinical placements.
Nominations
can be made by students, faculty or Clinical Instructors. In addition
to the nomination, the nominator will ask the student to write a brief
explanation of his/her involvement with APTA and what s/he has done to
foster learning and professional development beyond the more formal
methods.
