Strategic Plan Highlight

We are going to be highlighting a particular goal or objective from our strategic plan about 4 times a year here in the newsletter. The purpose is to provide members with a better sense of all the ways in which your chapter is working to meet our mission and vision. We also hope that by becoming more familiar with our plans as a chapter, you will discover something that you are passionate about, something that drives you to do what you do, and to share your talents, passion and commitment with the chapter to help us advance the profession and serve our community.

This time it’s all about  ADVOCACY!

To quote Marilyn Williams, a past APTA Vermont President, “There would be no PT profession without the APTA” and our legislative and advocacy efforts are a major contribution to our profession.  Vermont is such a great place to practice physical therapy due to the efforts of the individuals who have contributed their talents and efforts to the chapter’s advocacy. APTA Vermont serves as the voice of the profession in Vermont. We have had some recent successes with co-pay parity, which we are working on improving during this legislative session. We are also pursuing the PT licensure compact to improve access to PT services throughout the state. Our goal is clear…

GoalAPTA Vermont will strive to ensure a practice environment that supports accessible high-quality care for all Vermonters (Government Affairs)

  1. Participate in shaping legislation and policy affecting physical therapy
  2. Advocate for payment of physical therapy services

If you have a passion for our profession and want to take action to further drive our profession forward and improve the practice environment here in VT, we welcome your energy! How do you advocate for your patients and fellow PT professionals? …what is your way to ADVOCATE?  Email us now to explore ways to get involved!
