Member Spotlight

 Kristen Palmer, PT, DPT

About Kristen:

I am a recent DPT graduate from Boston University.  I currently work at the University of Vermont Medical Center’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit working primarily with individuals with neurologic diagnoses.  I love the work that I do, and it feels so meaningful to help people recover independence and improve their quality of life.  I am also the secretary of APTA Vermont and chair of the communications committee.

Why are you an APTA member?

In being an APTA member, I feel as though I can help promote and improve the profession of PT directly and in a way that will affect many people.  Not to mention, members get access to cutting edge research and discounted fees to conferences and education courses which helps me keep my practice current.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy being outside as much as possible, whether it be running, hiking, skiing, or just hanging out with friends and family.  I also enjoy getting in touch with my creative side with hobbies like knitting, crocheting and DIY projects.
